Testimony of the Lord's Work through the Life of One of His Saints
An invitation from Mr. Harry Wilson, father of Ann Forrest
November 19, 2008
Dear Family in Christ,
Ann, Victoria, Aunt Victoria, Wyman and I recently experienced the lowest valley of our earthly existence. We surrendered all, including the life of Ann Forrest, to our Lord’s perfect will; thence came our highest mountain top which ascended to Heaven.
We wish to share how God answered prayers and performed miracles before our very eyes this coming Sabbath at Christ Church, 1824 Barnwell Street, 4:30PM in the Reformation classroom. Dr. Campbell, a witness to the medical miracles, will assist us.
I believe it would be a sin to withhold the numerous ways God worked through surgeons, fire and rescue personnel, nurses, clergy, friends known and unknown over the three weeks we were in Jacksonville.
We ask that our lives, including Ann Forrest’s, become invisible as we share the Majesty and Power of our Lord. To Him be the Glory now and forever more.
Sincerely,
Harry Wilson

Update
Dear Saints,
Praise to Him who sits at the Father's right hand and who has not left the throne.
Today's update continues to bring wonderful news of the work which He is doing. Most likely Miss Wilson will be brought home on Tuesday. Her recovery from the wreck is continuing to amaze all but the Lord. The greatest hurdle remaining is the orthopedic injuries healing which will take more time.
She has progressed in a way, which only God could orchestrate and make happen.
Since they will be nearer to us, the family ask that you continue to respect the patient and consider her rest, which aides in her rehabilitation. The doctors in Jacksonville have given strict orders that she not have any visitors, if they are to discharge her from their care. Please respect this.
The Wilson family appreciates your kindness and desire to serve, and at this time, they would ask that you continue to pray. Also, continue to write cards which have encouraged them and Ann Forrest and continue to send notes or send Scripture verses.
The prayer continues to be that God's people would not cease to pray for His saints to turn back to Him.
Mail should continue to be sent to:

Thursday - 11/6 Update
Ann Forrest is still progressing in a miraculous way. She is very rested, eating well, and working hard with all of her therapy. Continue to pray for her amazing progress to continue and to continue to be a blessing to all of those caring for her.
They appreciate your continued prayers for her to regain her health and ask that you continue to pray that their eyes would continue to be made aware of the work which the Lord has going on around them and they make the most of every opportunity for the Word to go forth (Colossians 4).
The cards have been encouraging and appreciated and they ask that flowers not be sent. If you are led to send a card, please send it to the church office in " care of Ann Forrest and the Wilsons."
Soli Deo Gloria!

Pray for Ann Forrest Stream
On the morning of Monday, October 27th, Ann Forrest was in an automobile wreck on the way to school in Jacksonville, Florida. To read of the progression, read from he bottom up. If you have a Facebook Account (a free social networking site), please join the Pray for Ann Forrest Wilson group. Comments will be allowed at this link and not on individual posts.
Monday
Monday
As advised last week, we will be updating less often but with critical information.
Update:
10:53 a.m.
Ann Forrest had an excellent night.
Her chest tube was removed.
Her spirits are extremely high.
A very large smile on her face and she has been overheard saying, “I’m ready to get out!”
Friday
In lieu of calling or emailing the family has asked that we please send cards and letters of encouragement to:
Ann Forrest Wilson
c/o Christ Church of the Carolinas
1824 Barnwell Street
Columbia, SC 29201
All mail will then be packaged and sent all together to Ann Forrest. Thank you!
"The royal official said to Him 'Sir, come down before my child dies.' Jesus said to him, 'Go; your son lives.' The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off" (John 4:49f).
Ann Forrest has continued improving so quickly that the physicians are amazed. Our Jesus is Lord and He will not give His glory to another! (Is. 42:8; 48:11) From this time forward updates will come only as frequently as there are substantial change to note. Please continue laboring in prayer for God to be glorified through Ann Forrest's healing.
The family appreciates all of your prayers and love for their girl and they have expressed delight in the visitors they have had over the past few days. But right now what is best for Ann Forrest is for her to see her immediate family and for them to be well rested and able to be strong for her.
9:15am
Thank you, thank you for all of your prayers. We are certainly seeing the Lord's hand healing His sweet Ann Forrest! Last night she was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit! And she woke up in the night HUNGRY! - The Family
7:00 am
This message came to me this morning from a former member of Christ Church and friend.
"Hey Josh. How are you doing? I am doing good today. I went down to Jacksonville to spend some time with the family yesterday. It was encouraging for me just to be there and hear all the little stories of things that had been going on. They are allowing visitation for 2 people at a time. It lasts for 1 hour 4 times a day. I did not expect to see her. She would not even know who I am.... Of course the Wilsons, the Boyces and Bowers have taken turns cycling thru, and even Dr. and Mrs. Campbell have had a chance to get in there. They say she is upbeat and trying to sing hymns with her father in a wispering voice. It is truly amazing how the Lord has been watching over her. . . With over 1300 members in this group and prayers I know the Lord is pleased with the how His people are coming together." - Tom Reaves (US Navy/Sub class)
Thursday
8:30 pm
Last night I received a message from Wyman that they needed to find another smoothie shop as the local one had closed. They found one about 15 minutes away (Smoothie King), and Ann Forrest really enjoyed it.
Wednesday:
11:30 pm
From Mrs. Wilson "God is blessing us abundantly beyond . . .
Thank you, so much, for all you are doing for Him and for us.
Please continue to pray for Ann Forrest and Victoria. Ann Forrest remains a delight to our eyes and hearts.
Dr. Campbell and Kyle have taken Victoria to another hospital close by for evaluation as she is not doing well this evening. They are currently running tests to determine her needs."
4:13 pm
She is still sedated by they have her sitting up.
2:00pm
Today she is in significant pain which they are trying to manage. They are trying to sit her up. Victoria said, "The Lord is helping her fight mightily for His glory."
Becca Brunson (Clemson) wrote
at 12:00pm
She said a word! When asked where she hurt, she said the word "chest" and pointed to her chest. Praise God for every small victory!
at 10:41am
Just a small update - they are going to try to sit her up to expand her lung. They are still trying to manage her most significant pain.
9:00am
The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. [They] are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations3:22f).
Just a few other things to note:
Physically
- Though her pelvis is broken the joint is in tact.
- An occupational therapist will be doing a swallowing study with her today.
- There is no monitor on her brain which means they are not concerned about swelling. They are still monitoring her brain for bleeding.
- Her L5 vertebrae (one in the lower back) is chipped.
- She will need a catheter for 6 weeks
Other praises & prayer requests
- Kyle arrived at the hospital last night.
- The family was able to get 2 hotel rooms through the weekend despite the fact that it is Florida vs. Georgia weekend.
- A member of a local church in Jacksonville has 2 apartments that the family will be able to use free of charge after this weekend for as long as they need it.
- Ann Forrest is FSU alumni!
- Victoria's health is improved but please pray the Lord will continue to heal her.
- Pray that the family will be able to rest.
- Miss Ann Forrest Wilson and Mr. Wyman Ford Bowers will be wed on December 27th, 2008.

A recap of Tuesday's events from Victoria W. Boyce
(October 28 at 10:24pm)
Sure - today they took her off of the ventilator. This was a HUGE progression!!! She has a nasal tube pushing fresh o2 but she is breathing on her own. When we ask her to move her right hand, she moves it, left hand, right foot, etc. I walked in tonight and said Annie - it's Bub - and she opened her eyes for about 3 seconds. She is not opening her eyes much other than small infrequent episodes like that. She is not talking yet. Progression is slow - but she is not getting worse. The next 24-48 hours are very critical.
5:06pm:
Her tube is out and she is very responsive! Please continue to pray, her condition is still critical.
2:12pm
From Rebecca Boyce:
"She is squeezing Wyman's hand and trying to open her eyes - even shed a tear, turned her head and tried to push up out of the bed. She is waking up."
11:05am
From Martha Jenkins (Athens, GA):
I am not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but here is the address that you can send cards to at the hospital. I am sure any words of encouragement for her and her family would be a blessing.
I got this from my mother, who is Ann Forrest's aunt. I hope to have it correct! If it is incorrect, someone please let me know.

From Victoria Boyce (her sister):
"They are trying to wean her off O2 today and trying hard to wake her up. GOD IS GOOD. Christ is being shown through her already. Praise Him."

From Rebecca Boyce:
"They are taking her off sedation and want her to wake up and take the tubes out - her lungs sound good. Praise the Lord!"

9:24 UPDATE:
from Sara Prince (FSU) wrote at 9:24pm Monday
Hey Everyone-
I visited Ann Forrest's family at Shands in Jacksonville this afternoon and everything is looking good. She will be in critical condition for the next two days as they watch over her brain and lung, but so far so good. There hasn't been any increase in swelling. She is responding to verbal cues- being able to move her hands and feet if asked too which is a great sign, showing that there is probably no brain damage. Also, her family said that her face was completely untouched- and she still looks like the angel that she is. Please keep her family in your prayers. Also- if you need a place to stay to come visit, you are more than welcome to stay with me... just give me a call! 571-228-3831 God Bless!
6:45 UPDATE:
Dear Y'all, please continue to pray as the next 48 hours is critical. She remains stable, which is good. There is no increase in swelling in the past 3 hours.
5:18 UPDATE:
5:15 Update:
She continues to remain stable. When roused by the doctors, she "awoke" from her medicated sleep and gave a thumbs up to them. She has been transferred to a room now. There has been no negative news, everything is maintaining. Those in the medical field who are reading this are probably saying, this is good news. Wyman, her fiance, told his brother "you'd be amazed by how well she looks."
2:55 UPDATE:
Y'all good and not so good.
Good news is that she is stable. She is recovering from surgery and is stable.
The other half is that her brain has been bruised. The difficulty is in managing the swelling in her brain and and her lungs. There is fluid in both those areas. Though she has injuries in other parts, these are the most critical at this time.
The families that are there are continuing to make Psalm 46 the meditations and pleads of their hearts and lips. They request you do the same.

Selah. 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. 6 The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth melted. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has wrought desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. 10 "Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Please do not cease to pray as she is still considered “critical care” due to her collapsed lung (could lead to pneumonia) and brusing on her brain (could still lead to swelling). God is not done with the work that He has for her and those touched by her.
2:40pm
In a text from Victoria:
"Huge huge progress today. Too much to text. She is whispering and joking and drinking smoothies. Can't wait to post the update on line."
12:32pm
Ann Forrest was able to swallow jello and juice! Her heartrate is a bit high and here hemoglobin is "off" so she is taking beta blockers. She is more alert but still not speaking.
Also keep in mind that she is expected to take baby steps to recovery so if updates become less frequent it will mean she remains stable and has experienced no negative changes. No news is good news.
10:34am
Ann Forrest was able to sit up and sip some water through a straw. This process is indicative of proper higher brain functioning, so this is good news on many levels!
